Hello hello, it's been a couple of busy days in the studio and around town. Tonight was the deadline to get all the molds in the kiln so the studio was frantic and exciting! I have been documenting like the paparazzi so I will take a moment to catch you up on all the action.

Angela demonstrates how to position the core for a hollow or core cast work.

Once the core has been positioned it is locked in place with liquid wax.

The hold being heated back together with the core now fixed inside.

Gel-flex is one of the materials we have been using for moulds in the class. It is heated in a microwave a until it is a runny blue soup then it is poured over your model and allowed to cool. One of the great advantages of gel-flex is that once you are done with you mould it can be melted down and used over and over again.

Joe one of the fantastic staff here at Northlands lending Max a hand getting a wax ready to invest.

Ok that was a really short catch-up considering all that has happened in the last few days but as it is now 1 am I am off to bed and now that the moulds are in the kiln I will find some time tomorrow to add more. Hope you all great and loving life!!
